C-wags Level I Obedience Wednesday 6:15 PM

C-WAGS Obedience Level  1

This class is a beginning competition class in an organization that allows you to provide treats to your dog while in the ring.

It is designed to introduce the dog and handler team to the exercises of the Obedience Level I  class in C-Wags trials.  The Obedience Level 1 exercises consist of a short, simple Heeling pattern, Find Front - Forward, Walk-Around, Position Changes from a sit to a down and back, Call to Heel, and a Greeting.  All Obedience Level 1 exercises are conducted on leash.

The class sessions will break down the required exercises into their component parts for teaching, practicing, and mastering.  Particular attention will be paid to the work you need to do between your crate and the ring, teaching dogs and handler teams about helpful strategies to use to transition from one exercise to the next, and building your dog's confidence in the face of distractions and the trial environment.  Handler teams could repeat this class until readiness to enter a trial is attained

The mission of GCOC is to teach the handler successful methods of training which will result in a lifelong bond with their dog. Our goal is to provide a safe environment that will encourage this learning process. GCOC does reserve the right to excuse or recommend another type class for any dog who is disruptive or whose learning threshold has been exceeded. 

Pre-requisite: Completion of GCOC obedience classes, at least through Intermediate
