LURE COURSING

Lure Coursing gives your dog the opportunity to satisfy its innate instinct to run and chase! Coursing is a safe, controlled environment where dogs are given the chance to chase a a mechanized, white plastic lure across a course that simulates the excitement of chasing live prey. GCOC hosts two AKC Fast CAT/CAT Trials per year.

Courses are set up with safety in mind as Fast CAT/CAT is a beginner friendly dog sport. Join us for some fun with your dog!

Please visit TimeToFlyDogs.com to see upcoming coursing events hosted by GCOC (events listed through Time to Fly will include GCOC and non-GCOC coursing events).

Coursing Ability Test (CAT)

CAT stand for Coursing Ability Test where each dog runs individually and chases after a lure on a 300- or 600-yard long course. Your dog must finish within the time allotted; 1.5 to 2 minutes, depending on the course. The CAT is scored as pass/fail.
