Greater Columbia Obedience Club, Inc.
Intermediate Skills/Competitiion Prep - Evening
This class consists of 3 private sessions. Each session is schedule for 45 minutes to allow for acclimation, 30 minutes of training, and clearing the building after the lesson. Sessions will be held on 3 consecutive Tuesday evenings.
****PLEASE NOTE -- if 2 handler teams, scheduled one after the other, have similar levels and abilities, your instructor MAY combine them into one, 60 minute semi-private session.
Your instructor will assess areas of strength and weakness, work with you where you are, and help you and your dog advance your training. Content could include but is not limited to, work on basic positions, recalls, stays, loose lead walking, impulse control and engagement. It is also appropriate for any dog who has a good mastery of those skills but needs work perfecting them and responding to cues in all circumstances, not just your back yard.
If you are working toward competition, your instructor will assist you in building a solid foundation, solving problem areas, and incrementally preparing you to enter trials.
The mission of GCOC is to teach the handler successful methods of training which will result in a lifelong bond with their dog. Our goal is to provide a safe environment that will encourage this learning process. GCOC does reserve the right to excuse any dog who is disruptive or whose learning threshold has been exceeded.
