Build your Bubble: Teaching your dog to ignore distractions

 Taught by Mariah Hinds

Mariah Hinds is back for another series of classes.  Mariah, owner of Mariah Hinds Dog Training in Charlotte, NC and a Fenzi Dog Sports Academy Instructor.  Mariah visits us regularly, both as an instructor and a competitor in our matches and trials and provides a wealth of information and assistance to our members.

Distractions are everywhere… in agility trials, obedience trials, and yes, even at the training club or in your neighborhood. Our dogs can become distracted by a person moving or a dog or a smell or a water bottle or a training bag on the ground or simply by the environment in general. We want our dogs to be able to ignore distractions, listen to our cues, and respond to our cues eagerly and with accuracy. This workshop will go over how to teach your dog to ignore distractions including scent, sight, people and dog distractions.

This series of classes are ideal for people who compete in a variety of dog sports including rally, obedience, agility, barn hunt and nosework. Each team will choose what type of distraction that they want to work on with their dog. Dog teams will cycle through short one-on-one sessions with Mariah to work on specifics for that team.

$125.00 for members
